Important Information about

Medicare's New Prescription Drug Program - Part D

Need Help with Choosing a Plan?  Contact a ServiceLink Resource Center  or call 1-866-634-9412.

All services are free and confidential:

To better serve you with choosing a plan, complete the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage Work Sheet

If you currently receive Medicare:

The new prescription drug benefit is available to all people who have Medicare Part A or Part B, or both regardless of income.

How you will receive your prescription drug benefits:

Medicare will contract with private prescription drug plans. Every Medicare beneficiary will have a choice of prescription plans that offer various types of coverage.

Extra help is available:

One in three people with Medicare qualify for extra help that will cover between 85% and 98% of the cost for their drugs. Most people who are eligible for this extra help will pay no premiums, no deductibles, and no more than $5.00 for each prescription.

If you receive both Medicare & Medicaid:

(Dual Eligible)

Medicare will automatically select and enroll individuals who have both Medicare and NH Medicaid into a prescription drug plan. It is recommended that these plans be reviewed to ensure that all prescription needs are met, such as current prescriptions, co-pay costs and  pharmacy locations.   A new plan that provides better coverage may be selected at anytime.  NH Medicaid coverage for other medical expenses, such as doctor and hospital bills will not change.
