The protective payee must be one of the following:
• A relative, friend, or clergyperson of the recipient;
• A volunteer from a social service agency; or
• An individual on the staff of a public agency which provides homemaker or housekeeping services, practical nursing, rehabilitation, or housing.
Division employees, landlords, grocers, or other providers of goods or services who deal directly with the recipient are not eligible to be the recipient’s protective payee.
