113.09 Protective Payee Responsibilities (FAM)

The protective payee must do all of the following:

• Work closely with the individual;

• Help the individual learn how to manage household budgeting;

• Encourage active participation by the individual in the management of the individual’s income and resources;

• Receive the entire assistance check and pay bills for the well-being of the individual according to a budget planned with the individual;

• Maintain accountability in management of the individual’s assistance check;

• Cooperate with the Department in helping the individual; and

• Comply with the Department’s standards of confidentiality.
