A dependent child must meet all the following categorical criteria.
• live with a specified relative,
• be deprived of the support or care of a parent (see Part209.01, Eligibility Requirements), and
• meet one of the age requirements below:
- be less than age 18.
Exception: To be eligible, a child age 16 or 17 who is not a full-time student must comply with NHEP requirements.
- be less than age 20 and a full-time student in high school or high school equivalency program.
Exception: A parent may be eligible for TANF even if the only dependent child is an SSI child and therefore ineligible for TANF financial assistance. See Part 217, Separate MA Groups.
