UP is a *medical assistance (MA) program only for two-parent families with dependent children in which the principal wage earner (PWE) becomes unemployed. UP cash assistance is no longer available. Categorical non-financial and financial requirements for UP MA eligibility are the same as the requirements for NHEP cash assistance, except that New Hampshire Employment Program requirements do not apply.* The PWE must meet the unemployment criteria outlined in PART 213 for eligibility for medical assistance.
