MENTAL HEALTH WORKER II
NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Bureau of Developmental Services / 1st Shift / DRF - Laconia
Starting Salary Range - $27,549.60 - $31,959.20
(Includes Direct Care Pay)

SCOPE OF WORK: To provide supervision of and treatment to developmentally disabled, behaviorally involved individuals who present issues of 1) sexual abuse and/or assault; 2) arson; or 3) assault causing serious bodily harm or involving the use of a firearm.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Graduation from high school, G.E.D. or its equivalent.  Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of work experience.  Approved formal education includes courses or a degree in psychology, social science, special education, any of the health professions, or other area of approved study.

Experience:  Two years of experience in the care of mentally ill or emotionally disturbed persons in a psychiatric facility, two years as a Mental Health Worker, or two years of work experience in a position or combination of positions, that would evidence possession of the requisite skills necessary for satisfactory performance at this level.

License/Certification: Must meet educational requirements, certifications, competencies and employment criteria as specified under He-M 1001, He-M 1201, He-M 506, and He-M 426 as applicable to job responsibilities.  One additional labor grade is provided for Medication Certification.  Employee certification is reviewed and renewed annually. Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state in which the employee resides, with appropriate endorsements required for the type of vehicle being operated. Must possess or successfully complete a Defensive driving Course as approved by the New Hampshire Safety Council within the first six (6) months of employment. As a condition of and prior to hire, the applicant must have verified their current New Hampshire driving record supplied by the Dept. of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles indicating no major traffic violations.

Employees will be required to pay an agency/union fee.
