NURSE SPECIALIST
NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
New Hampshire Hospital / Unit J 1st shift / Concord
Starting Salary Range: $58,323.20 - $69,056.00 Includes Direct Care Pay

SCOPE OF WORK: This position is assigned to work with the adult psychiatric client population. Renders professional nursing care to patients/residents within an assigned unit.  Through the use of Nursing Process, ANA Standards of Care, nursing knowledge and skill, is able to perform varied and complex duties which will ensure that patients receive the best possible care.  Works under the direction of an identified Nursing Coordinator and occasionally assumes the Nursing Leadership role in the absence of the Nursing Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in nursing or a related human service field.  Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience:  Three years' experience as a registered nurse in a health care facility or a related human service field working in the specialty area in which the vacancy exists.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire. Certification by the American Nurses Association or an organization recognized by the ANA in a speciality that is consistent with the job accountabilities and appropriate to the institution or agency in which the vacancy exists.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  An employee may be required to work additional hours beyond their normal work shift, engaged in work that is characteristic of their classification, in order to meet patient care needs/safe staffing levels, established by the Nursing Department of New Hampshire Hospital.

Employees will be required to pay an agency/union fee.
