PROGRAM SPECIALIST III (Vectorborne Disease Surveillance Coordinator)
NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Division of Public Health Services / Bureau of Infectious Disease Control / Concord
Starting Salary Range: $41,086.50 - $48,769.50

SCOPE OF WORK: Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates public health education, health promotion, and disease prevention programs for vector borne diseases such as West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, and Lyme disease. Performs complex laboratory tests and analyzes and interprets statewide data, policies and procedures for use in planning disease prevention activities and interventions.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in a biological science, epidemiology, public health, nursing or allied health field.  Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year required work experience.

Experience:  Four years’ professional or paraprofessional experience in a health-related field with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.   

License/Certification:  Eligibility for New Hampshire driver's license, if necessary for travel throughout the state.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  For appointment consideration, Program Specialist III applicants must successfully participate in a structured interview measuring possession of knowledge, skills and abilities.  Applicants’ responses to questions asked in the structured interview will be numerically rated.
