DEPUTY COMMISSIONER
NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Office of the Commissioner / Concord
Salary Range: $84,921.00 - $112,861.00

SCOPE OF WORK: The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is currently accepting applications/resumes for the position of Deputy Commissioner. Working under the direction of the Commissioner, this position oversees the management of all operational and administrative units of DHHS. The Deputy Commissioner provides sound leadership, management, and the vision necessary to ensure DHHS has proper operational controls, procedures and systems in place to support its broad range of programs. Working in concert with the Commissioner’s senior management team, the Deputy Commissioner maintains "bottom line" authority for financial strength and operating efficiencies of the Department in meeting the overall mission of DHHS programs supporting the citizens of New Hampshire.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university and ten years’ progressive experience in executive management of a mid-size to large organization. Candidates with an advanced degree with relevant experience are preferred. Candidates considered for this position will have demonstrated proven leadership ability within the body of their work experience as well as superior verbal and written communication skills. Additional importance will be placed on the ability to function effectively as both a leader of a work team as well as a team member. 

License/Certification:  A valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation for use in statewide travel is required.

This is an unclassified, 4-year term position. Appointment to the position must be approved by the Governor and Executive Council.
