Child Care Audit Unit
The Child Care Audit Unit (CCA) is responsible for audits of childcare providers and clients in an effort to ensure the integrity of child care payments. CCA reviews childcare financial processes to reduce incorrect or fraudulent payments that may be due to improper actions of childcare assistance recipients or providers. When suspicious cases are discovered, an investigation is conducted to clear the case, discontinue services, collect overpayments or prosecute.
CCA is also involved in assisting the Special Investigations Unit (SI) in the collection of evidence and documentation for cases that are referred to SI from other sources. CCA also performs federally mandated eligibility reviews of 276 cases every third year.
